Pi Kappa Alpha Clinches 3rd Championship

Football 2007 Champs

On November 8th, Pikes wrapped up a perfect season with a 19-7 victory over Sigma Nu for the championship. Alpha Kappa finished the season with a 7-0 record. Not only did Pikes go undefeated throughout the regular and post-season, but they had a point differential of over 180 points. This is the third major championship for PiKA intramurals this semester alone, including a 20-0 record throughout Softball, Ultimate Frisbee, and Flag Football.

Ultimate Frisbee 2007 Champs

The second week of October continued to be a successful one for Alpha Kappa with another Intramural Event Championship. On October 14th, AK claimed the Ultimate Frisbee title. The Pikes were very successful in the four day tournament and remained undefeated. Pikes relied on their speed and athleticism to overcome and defeat the seasoned veterans of the tournament.

Softball 2007 Champs

On October 10th, Pikes defeated Sigma Nu for the intramural softball championship. Alpha Kappa pulled off a 14 - 13 victory by a game winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. This game was a successful cap to the already flawless season. Pikes finished 7-0 on the season.

Varsity Athletics

October 1st, 2007

Alpha Kappa continues with its strong presence on the athletic fields for the University of Missouri-Rolla. During the 2007-2008 season, AK will be represented by 18 varsity athletes in three different sports. The UMR Men’s Soccer team is led by seniors Keith Beers, Dan Gravlin, and Mike McNamee. The junior class is composed of Andy Held, Tom Lawton, Nick Mentesana, Brandon Moore, Afif Najjar, and Garrett Stevens. Sophomores Wade Aitken-Palmer, Nick Landon, and Brian Tucker are backed by freshmen Matt Wilson and Patrick McVey. Offensive linemen Colin Douthit, along with newcomers Gregg Crannick and Aaron Gowdy look to make an impact on UMR Football. Running hurdles and middle distance is Brandon Cundiff for UMR Track and Field.
