Alpha Kappa Assists Habitat for Humanity in Nashville, TN

Members of Alpha Kappa serving the Springfield community
During the weekend of October 3rd, the members of Pi Kappa Alpha performed a weekend of community service with Habitat for Humanity located in Nashville, TN. This service trip was one of the largest projects Alpha Kappa has participated in many semesters. Sixty-eight members volunteered all weekend, painting the interior, putting up siding, installing plumbing and storage accessories, securing drywall, and much more. They exemplified hard work, placing the Habitat management group two days ahead of schedule before the end of the weekend. While at Nashville, the St. Edward Catholic Church and School provided lodging, YMCA offered showering facilities, and Panera Bread sponsored meals for the volunteers the entire weekend. This service trip puts Pi Kappa Alpha at more than 5,300 community service hours for the Fall 2008 semester.
