The gentlemen of Pi Kappa Alpha performed an afternoon of community service for the Tour of Missouri Bike Race on September 11th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. This is the first time the brothers of Alpha Kappa have been asked to volunteer at the annual bike race. The Tour of Missouri Bike Race, a well-known event for community outreach and amusement, is a 7-stage race where bikers compete from St. Joseph, MO through Kansas City and across the state of Missouri to the finish line in St. Charles, MO. Thousands of citizens filled the streets to watch this spectacular event pass through their residential area while in the meantime, just as many people helped to make this experience successful. During this year’s bike race through Rolla, the men of Pi Kappa Alpha held volunteer positions as course marshals along 12th Street. Forty members of Alpha Kappa supervised the course to make sure the event was safe and secure for the bike riders and fans.
